"... The names Dathan and Abiram in verses 23 and 27 appear in the Masoretic Text but not in the Greek. Either they were added by the Redactor to weave the stories together or they were added by a later scribe who, not knowing there were originally two separate stories, could not understand why the text referred only to Korah without Dathan and Abiram ..."
