Summary
Date: 3rd Century B.C.E.
The Septuagint translation of Numbers has a less varied style and is usually fairly literal (especially where syntax is concerned), though it too sometimes translates rather freely, especially with regard to lexical choices. For cultic items, however, he often follows apparently established conventions. Unlike the previous translators, the translator here does not take much account of the wider context, that is, his choices are determined by the immediate words to be translated, without cross-referencing.
