The Hebrew version of Daniel 9 places the cutting off of an anointed one after sixty-two weeks. The Greek Septuagint counts seven, seventy, and sixty-two instead, adding an extra seventy weeks that pushes the prophecy far into the future.

Daniel 9:26

Hebrew Bible
25 So know and understand: From the issuing of the command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until an anointed one, a prince arrives, there will be a period of seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. It will again be built, with plaza and moat, but in distressful times. 26 Now after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one will be cut off and have nothing. As for the city and the sanctuary, the people of the coming prince will destroy them. But his end will come speedily like a flood. Until the end of the war that has been decreed there will be destruction. 27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one week. But in the middle of that week he will bring sacrifices and offerings to a halt. On the wing of abominations will come one who destroys, until the decreed end is poured out on the one who destroys.”

LXX Daniel 9:26

Septuagint
25 And you will know and understand and be cheerful, and you will find commands to respond, and you will build Jerusalem, the city, for the Lord. 26 And after seven and seventy and sixty-two, an anointed one will be removed, and will not be. And a kingdom from among the nations will despoil the city and the holy place along with the anointed one, and his end will come with destructive anger at the time of the consummation. There will be war upon war. 27 And the covenant will be made strong for many, and it will recover again, and it will be built up in breadth and length. And at the end of the appointed times, and after seventy-seven times and sixty-two years during the set time of the consummation of war, then the desolation will be taken away when the covenant prevails for many weeks. And at the completion of the week, sacrifice and drink-offering will be taken away, and upon the holy place there will be an abomination of desolation until the consummation. And a determined final destruction will be rendered upon the one making desolate.”

... This observation may explain the additional seventy sevens in verses 26 and 27 of the Old Greek version (7+70+62+1). While Adler, Grabbe, and Montgomery suggest that a translator or copyist read שבעים (seventy) instead of שבעים (weeks), Rösel proposes that the Old Greek's translation reflects a theological reading after the Antiochene crisis. The additional seventy sevens push the realization of the six objectives of Daniel 9:24 into the more distant future. For the translator, the Antiochene crisis has become a 'prelude' to or a type of the end of sin and the establishment of righteousness. ...
