Persia

Persia designates both a geographic region associated with the Iranian plateau and a series of powerful empires that shaped Near Eastern history. Most prominently, it refers to the Achaemenid Empire, which ruled a vast territory from Anatolia to Central Asia. Persian rule is known for imperial administration, legal organization, infrastructure, and policies that allowed diverse cultures and religions to continue under centralized authority. It is used broadly to describe the cultural, political, and historical legacy of these Iranian empires.
