Luke has Jesus ask whether the one who made the outside did not make the inside too. The Gospel of Thomas has a shorter form of the saying, asking why the outside of the cup is washed when one maker made both inside and outside.

Luke 11:40
New Testament
38 The Pharisee was astonished when he saw that Jesus did not first wash his hands before the meal. 39 But the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness. 40 You fools! Didn’t the one who made the outside make the inside as well? 41 But give from your heart to those in need, and then everything will be clean for you.
Gospel of Thomas 1:89
Nag Hammadi
88 Jesus said, “The angels and the prophets will come to you, and they will give you those things which you already have; and you yourselves, give them what is in your hands and say to yourselves: ‘When will they come and take what is theirs?’” 89 Jesus said, “Why do you wash the outside of the cup? Do you not realize that he who made the inside is the same one who made the outside?” 90 Jesus said, “Come to me, for my yoke is easy and my lordship is gentle, and you will find rest for yourselves.”

“... Verse 43 has a doublet in 20:46, which is derived from Mark 12:38-39 (see p. 81). Do you not realize that the one who made the inside is also the one who made the outside?' " This simpler form may seem to be more primitive; but it is probably a later simplification of the saying in an effort to emphasize divine unity (see J.-E. Menard, L'Evangile selon Thomas, 191); cf. § 22 (and p. 87). ...”
