1 Enoch 45:3
1 This is the Second Parable concerning those who deny the name of the dwelling of the holy ones and the Lord of Spirits. 2 They shall not ascend into heaven, nor shall they come upon the earth: such is the fate of the sinners who have denied the name of the Lord of Spirits, who are set aside for the day of suffering and tribulation. 3 On that day, My Elect One shall sit on the throne of glory and shall judge their works, and their places of rest shall be innumerable. And their souls shall grow strong within them when they see My Elect Ones, and those who have called upon My glorious name. 4 Then I will cause My Elect One to dwell among them. And I will transform the heaven and make it an eternal blessing and light. 5 And I will transform the earth and make it a blessing; and I will cause My elect ones to dwell upon it. But the sinners and evildoers shall not set foot on it.
Matthew 16:27
24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone wants to become my follower, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. 25 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of me will find it. 26 For what does it benefit a person if he gains the whole world but forfeits his life? Or what can a person give in exchange for his life? 27 For the Son of Man will come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done. 28 I tell you the truth, there are some standing here who will not experience death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”
Notes and References
"... The context of the passage, and the use of Daniel’s Son of Man title indicate that Matthew alludes to the same timeframe as Jesus is returning after the tribulation (Matthew 24:29—30, 25:31; Daniel 7:13—14). The throne of glory, which is most commonly God’s throne, frequently appears in Jewish texts with special significance placed on those addressing the final judgment (1 Enoch 45:3; 47:3; 60:2; 62:2) ..."
