Genesis 1:26
25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the cattle according to their kinds, and all the creatures that creep along the ground according to their kinds. God saw that it was good. 26 Then God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, after our likeness, so they may rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move on the earth.” 27 God created humankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them.
Leviticus 11:44
43 Do not make yourselves detestable by any of the swarming things. You must not defile yourselves by them and become unclean by them, 44 for I am the Lord your God, and you are to sanctify yourselves and be holy because I am holy. You must not defile yourselves by any of the swarming things that creep on the ground, 45 for I am the Lord who brought you up from the land of Egypt to be your God, and you are to be holy because I am holy.
Notes and References
"... Further connecting Leviticus 11 with Genesis 1 is the use of ץראה־לע in syntactical connection with the nominal and verbal forms of שׂמר. The resulting phrase, ץראה־לע שׂמרה שׂמרה־לכ, appears only three times in the Old Testament (Genesis 1:26; 7:14; 8:17). This construction is closely paralleled by Leviticus 11:44 which substitutes the noun "earth" for "ground", probably to facilitate a play on words with the adjective used throughout the chapter ..."
