Ezekiel 1 compares the sound of the living creatures’ wings to rushing water and the voice of God. The Apocalypse of Abraham echoes this overwhelming sound in a voice from the fire, making divine speech the focus of Abraham’s encounter.

Ezekiel 1:24
Hebrew Bible
21 When the living beings moved, the wheels moved, and when they stopped moving, the wheels stopped. When they rose up from the ground, the wheels rose up from the ground; the wheels rose up beside them because the spirit of the living being was in the wheel. 22 Over the heads of the living beings was something like a dome41, glittering awesomely like ice, stretched out over their heads. 23 Under the platform their wings were stretched out, each toward the other. Each of the beings also had two wings covering its body. 24 When they moved, I heard the sound of their wings—it was like the sound of rushing waters, or the voice of the Sovereign One, or the tumult of an army. When they stood still, they lowered their wings.
Apocalypse of Abraham 17:1
Pseudepigrapha, Apocalypses
1 And while he yet spoke (and) behold! fire came against us round about, and a voice was in the fire like a voice of many waters, like the sound of the sea in its uproar. 2 And the angel bent his head with me and worshipped. 3 And I desired to fall down upon the earth, and the high place, on which we stood, [at one moment rose upright,] but at another rolled downwards. 4 And he said: "Only worship, Abraham, and utter the song which I have taught you;" 5 because there was no earth to fall upon. And I worshipped only, and uttered the song which he had taught me. 6 And he said: "Recite without ceasing." 7 And I recited, and he also himself with me recited the song: 8 Eternal, mighty. Holy, El, God only — Supreme!
