Targumic Literature and New Testament Interpretation

This article investigates the relevance of Targumic literature, Aramaic translations and interpretations of the Hebrew Bible, for interpreting the New Testament. It explores how Targums, which often incorporate interpretive expansions and theological reflections, provide insights into the Jewish exegetical traditions that may have influenced New Testament authors. By examining parallels between Targumic renderings and New Testament texts, the study highlights the potential of Targums to shed light on the linguistic and conceptual frameworks within which early Christian writings were composed.
