Amos 7:14
13 Don’t prophesy at Bethel any longer, for a royal temple and palace are here.” 14 Amos replied to Amaziah, “I was not a prophet by profession. No, I was a herdsman who also took care of sycamore fig trees. 15 Then the Lord took me from tending flocks and gave me this commission, ‘Go! Prophesy to my people Israel.’

13 But never prophesy again at Bethel, for it is the king’s sanctuary and a royal temple.” 14 Then Amos answered and said to Amaziah: “I am no prophet, nor am I a prophet’s son. I am an owner of herds and I have sycamore trees in the Shephelah. Because of the sins of my people I am afflicting myself. 15 But the Lord led me away from the sheep-pen, from after the sheep, and the Lord said to me, ‘Go, prophesy about my people Israel.’

Amos's claim in Targum Amos 7:14 that he had sycamore trees in the Shephelah (a geographic region anachronistic to Amos' original location) is explained as 'an assumption unwarranted in the case of the prophet from Tekoa, but reflecting the economic geography of the Talmudic age', whereas the association of the sycamore with the more temperate conditions of the Shephelah is already observed in 1 Kings 10:27 ..."
