Why hast thou brought us out into this wilderness to kill all this congregation with hunger? And the Lord said to Mosheh, Behold, I will cause the bread which hath been laid up for you from the beginning to descend from heaven: and the people shall go out and gather the matter of a day by the day, that I may try them whether they will keep the commandments of My law or not.

16 Therefore, repent! "... My last point concerns the origin and storage of manna. Whereas 2 Baruch is silent on this matter, the contemporary Jerusalem Targum includes manna in a list of ten items which were created on the Sabbath’s eve of the creation week. According to that account, manna was created at twilight on the Sabbath at the very end of God’s creational act. According to the Jerusalem Targum to Exodus 16:4 and 15, the manna was hidden since the beginning, only to descend again in the Messianic era. (Compare Revelation 2:17) It is possible that 2 Baruch alludes to these traditions in its description of the “treasury of manna” as something stored in heaven. When the manna descends at the very end of time, it thus both recalls the Sabbath’s eve of creation week and signals that the end has come ..."
