Ketuvim, meaning “Writings,” designates the third major section of the Hebrew Bible. It includes a wide range of literary forms, such as psalms, wisdom instruction, festival scrolls, and later historical works. Unlike the Torah or the Neviʾim, Ketuvim is not organized around a single theme or historical sequence. Instead, it brings together texts used for prayer, ethical reflection, communal memory, and instruction. Ketuvim reflects how Scripture functioned in varied settings, shaping devotion, identity, and interpretation across time.
