Divine Council

The divine council is a bureaucratic model of the divine world where a chief god rules in the presence of other gods or angels. These beings are portrayed as attendants, messengers, or officials who carry out assigned roles. Texts that describe a divine council often use the language of royal courts or governing assemblies, showing scenes of deliberation, judgment, or command. This model appears in many ancient religious writings and reflects how divine authority was described using social and political structures familiar to human communities.
