Summary
Date: 2nd Century B.C.E.
The Septuagint translation of Josuha illustrates the effect of revisions on the manuscript tradition. The two main manuscripts are so different in 15.21b—62 and 18.22-19.45 that scholars print both versions side-by-side. Some Hebrew manuscripts from Qumran reveal a text similar to that used by the translator. The LXX omits 20.4—6, but adds several lines at the end of the book, taken from various parts of Judges, apparently making a deliberate link with that book.
