The Dream of Scipio is the closing section of Cicero's dialogue On the Republic, written around 54 to 51 BCE. In it the younger Scipio recounts a dream in which his grandfather shows him the structure of the heavens, the spheres of the planets and fixed stars, and the place kept in the sky for the souls of those who served their country well.
