Summary
Date: 70-150 C.E.
The Apocalypse of Abraham extrapolates in apocalyptic form a narrative of visions experienced by the patriarch Abraham during Genesis 15:12. Abraham is taken by an angel on a Heavenly journey where he sees God's throne and sees a vision of the judgement of the world. Like other apocalypses, it is concerned to explain the presence of evil and especially of the prevalence of idolatry.
