Seneca

Seneca, Lucius Annaeus (ca. 4 B.C.E.–65 C.E.), a politician, advisor to Nero, and philosopher, was the author of ten ethical treatises, or dialogi—including De ira (On Anger), De providentia (On Providence), Ad Marciam de consolatione (To Marcia, on Consolation), De beneficiis (On Benefits), De vita beata (On the Happy Life)—and other writings, including his numerous Epistulae morales (Moral Epistles).
