Micah 1:4

Hebrew Bible

2 Listen, all you nations! Pay attention, all inhabitants of earth! The Sovereign Lord will act as a witness against you; the Lord will accuse you from his majestic palace. 3 Look, the Lord is coming out of his dwelling place! He will descend and march on the earth’s mountaintops! 4 The mountains will crumble beneath him, and the valleys will split apart like wax before a fire, like water dumped down a steep slope. 5 All this is because of Jacob’s rebellion and the sins of the nation of Israel. And just what is Jacob’s rebellion? Isn’t it Samaria’s doings? And what is Judah’s sin? Isn’t it Jerusalem’s doings?

1 Enoch 1:6

Pseudepigrapha

5 And all shall be smitten with fear And the Watchers shall quake, And great fear and trembling shall seize them unto the ends of the earth. 6 And the high mountains shall be shaken, And the high hills shall be made low, And shall melt like wax before the flame 7 And the earth shall be ⌈wholly⌉ rent in sunder, And all that is upon the earth shall perish, And there shall be a judgement upon all (men).

 Notes and References

"... “the heavenly bodies melt in the heat.” This clause derives from Isaiah 34:4 LXX (“all the powers of the heavens will melt”) ... The verb τήκεοθαι, “to melt,” here a New Testament hapax [only used once], is also used of the melting of the mountains at the eschatological coming of God: LXX Isaiah 63:19-64:1; Micah 1:4; 1 Enoch 1:6). The description of the conflagration is repeated, with slight variations from verse 10, in order to prepare for verse 13 ..."
