Philo of Alexandria, also called Philo Judaeus, was a Hellenistic Jewish philosopher who lived in Alexandria, in the Roman province of Egypt. Who is the Heir of Divine Things is a part of Philo's allegorical reading of Genesis. The commentary at first follows the text of Genesis verse by verse. Afterwards, single sections are selected, and some of them are developed as to grow into regular monographs. For example, Philo takes occasion from the history of Noah to write two books on drunkenness.
