Bel and the Dragon is included in the book of Daniel in all of the ancient Christian Old Testaments. In both Bel and Daniel 6, Daniel is thrown into a lion's den and emerges unharmed. Daniel promises to slay a Babylonian dragon without the aid of a sword, and does so by baking pitch, fat, and hair to make cakes that kill the dragon on consumption.
