1 Corinthians is a letter written by Paul to a community of Jesus followers at Corinth he helped establish roughly a decade prior. This community was in a disturbed state with issues ranging from theological factions, problematic sexual practices, marital obligations, liturgy, and church roles. The letter is also notable for its discussion of charisms and for an encomium on love.
