Suetonius

Suetonius (ca. 70–130 C.E.), or Gaius Suetonius Tranquillus, briefly a military tribune in Britain, joined the retinue of the governor of Bithynia (ca. 110 C.E.). He was the author of De viris illustribus (On Illustrious Men), of which only portions survive, and De vita Caesarum (On the Lives of the Caesars), comprising biographies of twelve emperors, from Julius Caesar (reigned 48–44 B.C.E.) to Domitian (reigned 81–96 C.E.). His other works are lost.
