Paedagogus

The first book of the Paedagogus is concerned to identify the ‘children’ of whom the paedagogus has charge, the paedagogus who leads them, and the means he uses to form Christian character. The other two books treat a variety of themes related to morality and etiquette, with the discussion sometimes degenerating to such trivial topics as the style and firmness appropriate in one’s bed.
