8בְּכֵן כְּנַשׁ שְׁלֹמֹה יַת סָבֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְיַת כָּל רֵישֵׁי שִׁבְטַיָא רַבְרְבֵי אַבְהָתָא דִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְוַת מַלְכָּא שְׁלֹמֹה לִירוּשְׁלֵם לְאַסָקָא יַת אֲרוֹן קְיָמָא דַייָ מִקַרְתָּא דְדָוִד הִיא צִיוֹן:
2 וְאִתְכְּנִישׁוּ לְוַת מַלְכָּא שְׁלֹמֹה כָּל אֱנַשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּיַרְחָא דְעַתִּיקַיָא דְקָרָן לֵיהּ יַרְחָא קַדְמָאָה בְּחַגָא וּכְעַן הוּא יַרְחָא שְׁבִיעָאָה:
3 וַאֲתוֹ כָּל סָבֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וּנְטַלוּ כַהֲנַיָא יַת אֲרוֹנָא:
4 וְאַסִיקוּ יַת אֲרוֹנָא דַייָ וְיַת מַשְׁכַּן זִמְנָא וְיַת כָּל מָנֵי קוּדְשָׁא דִי בְמַשְׁכְּנָא וְאַסִיקוּ יַתְהוֹן כַּהֲנַיָא וְלֵיוָאֵי:
5 וּמַלְכָּא שְׁלֹמֹה וְכָל כְּנִשְׁתָּא דְיִשְׂרָאֵל דְאִזְדַמְנוּ עֲלוֹהִי קַיְמִין עִמֵיהּ קֳדָם אֲרוֹנָא מִנַכְסִין עָאן וְתוֹרִין דְלָא יִתְחַשְׁבוּן וְלָא יִתְמְנוּן מִסְגֵי:
6 וְאָעִילוּ כַהֲנַיָא יַת אֲרוֹן קְיָמָא דַייָ לְאַתְרֵיהּ לְבֵית כַּפּוֹרֵי דִי מְתַקֵן לֵיהּ בְּגוֹ בֵיתָא לְקוֹדֶשׁ קוּדְשַׁיָא לִתְחוֹת כַּנְפֵי כְרוּבַיָא:
7 אֲרֵי כְרוּבַיָא פְּרִיסַן גַדְפֵיהוֹן עַל אֲתַר אֲרוֹנָא וּמַטְלִין כְּרוּבַיָא עַל אֲרוֹנָא וְעַל אֲרִיחוֹהִי מִלְעֵילָא:
8 וַאֲרִיכוּן אֲרִיחַיָא וּמִתְחַזָן רֵישֵׁי אֲרִיחַיָא מִן קוּדְשָׁא עַל אַפֵּי בֵית כַּפּוֹרֵי וְלָא מִתְחַזָן לְבָרָא וַהֲווֹ תַמָן עַד יוֹמָא הָדֵין:
9 לֵית בַּאֲרוֹנָא לְחוֹד תְּרֵין לוּחֵי אַבְנַיָא דְאַצְנַע תַּמָן מֹשֶׁה בְּחוֹרֵב דִי עִלַוֵיהוֹן כְּתִיבִין עַשְׂרָא פִּתְגָמֵי קְיָמָא דִגְזַר יְיָ עִם בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּמִפַּקְהוֹן מֵאַרְעָא דְמִצְרָיִם:
10 וַהֲוָה בְּמִפַּק כַּהֲנַיָא מִן קוּדְשָׁא וַעֲנַן אֲמִיטְתָא אִתְמְלֵי יַת בֵּית מַקְדְשָׁא דַיָי:
11 וְלָא יָכִילוּ כַּהֲנַיָא לְמֵיקַם לְשַׁמָשָׁא מִן קֳדָם עֲנָנָא אֲרֵי אִתְמְלֵי יְקָרָא דַייָ יַת בֵּית מַקְדְשָׁא דַיָי:
12 בְּכֵן אֲמַר שְׁלֹמֹה יְיָ אִתְרְעֵי לְאַשְׁרָאָה שְׁכִנְתֵּיהּ בִּירוּשְׁלֵם:
13 מִבְנָא בְנֵיתִי בֵּית מַקְדְשָׁא קֳדָמָךְ אֲתַר מְתַקַן לְבֵית שְׁכִנְתָּךְ עָלְמִין:
14 וְאַסְחַר מַלְכָּא יַת אַפּוֹהִי וּבְרִיךְ יַת כָּל קְהָלָא דְיִשְׂרָאֵל וְכָל קְהָלָא דְיִשְׂרָאֵל קָאִים:
15 וַאֲמַר בְּרִיךְ יְיָ אֱלָהָא דְיִשְׂרָאֵל דִי גְזַר בְּמֵימְרֵיהּ עִם דָוִד אַבָּא וּבִרְעוּתֵיהּ קַיֵם לְמֵימָר:
16 מִן יוֹמָא דִי אַפְקֵית יַת עַמִי יַת יִשְׂרָאֵל מִמִצְרַיִם לָא אִתְרְעֵיתִי בְּקַרְתָּא מִכֹּל שִׁבְטַיָא דְיִשְׂרָאֵל לְמִבְנֵי בֵיתָא לְאַשְׁרָאָה שְׁכִנְתִּי תַּמָן וְאִתְרְעֵיתִי בְדָוִד לְמֶהֱוֵי מַלְכָּא עַל עַמִי יִשְׂרָאֵל:
17 וַהֲוָה בִּלְבָּא דְדָוִד אַבָּא לְמִבְנֵי בֵיתָא לִשְׁמָא דַייָ אֱלָהָא דְיִשְׂרָאֵל:
18 וַאֲמַר יְיָ לְדָוִד אַבָּא חֲלַף דִי הֲוָה עִם לִבָּךְ לְמִבְנֵי בֵיתָא לִשְׁמִי אַתְקֵינְתָּא אֲרֵי הֲוָה עִם לִבָּךְ:
19 לְחוֹד אַתְּ לָא תִבְנֵי בֵיתָא אֱלָהֵין בַּר דְתוֹלִיד הוּא יִבְנֵי בֵיתָא לִשְׁמִי:
20 וְקַיָים יְיָ יַת פִּתְגָמֵיהּ דְמַלֵיל וְקָמִית תְּחוֹת דָוִד אַבָּא וִיתֵיבִית עַל כּוּרְסֵי מַלְכוּתָא דְיִשְׂרָאֵל כְּמָא דְמַלֵיל יְיָ וּבְנֵיתִי בֵיתָא לִשְׁמָא דַייָ אֱלָהָא דְיִשְׂרָאֵל:
21 וְשַׁוֵיתִי תַמָן אֲתַר מְתַקֵן לַאֲרוֹנָא דִי בֵיהּ מַחֲתִין תְּרֵין לוּחֵי אַבְנַיָא דִי עֲלֵיהוֹן קְיָמָא דַייָ דִי גְזַר עִם אַבְהָתָנָא בְּאַפָּקוּתֵיהּ יַתְהוֹן מֵאַרְעָא דְמִצְרָיִם:
22 וְקָם שְׁלֹמֹה קֳדָם מַדְבְּחָא דַייָ לָקֳבֵיל כָּל קְהָלָא דְיִשְׂרָאֵל וּפְרַס יְדוֹהִי בִּצְלוֹ לְצֵית שְׁמַיָא:
23 וַאֲמַר יְיָ אֱלָהָא דְיִשְׂרָאֵל לֵית בַּר מִנָךְ אַתְּ הוּא אֱלָהָא דִשְׁכִינְתָּךְ בִּשְׁמַיָא מִלְעֵילָא וְשַׁלִיט עַל אַרְעָא מִלְרַע נְטַר קְיָמָא וְחִסְדָא לְעַבְדָךְ דִי מְהַלְכִין קֳדָמָךְ בְּכָל לִבְּהוֹן:
24 דִי נְטַרְתְּ לְעַבְדָךְ דָוִד אַבָּא יַת דְמַלֵילְתָּא לֵיהּ וּגְזַרְתָּא בְּמֵימְרָךְ וּבִרְעוּתָךְ קַיַמְתְּ כְּיוֹמָא הָדֵין:
25 וּכְעַן יְיָ אֱלָהָא דְיִשְׂרָאֵל טַר לְעַבְדָךְ דָוִד אַבָּא יַת דְמַלֵילְתָּא לֵיהּ לְמֵימַר לָא יִפְסוֹק לָךְ גְבַר מִן קָדָמַי יָתֵיב עַל כּוּרְסֵי מַלְכוּתָא דְיִשְׂרָאֵל לְחוֹד אִם יִטְרוּן בְּנָךְ יַת אוֹרְחַתְהוֹן לְהַלָכָא קֳדָמַי כְּמָא דְהַלֵיכְתָּא קֳדָמַי:
26 וּכְעַן אֱלָהָא דְיִשְׂרָאֵל יִתְקַיְמוּן כְּעַן פִּתְגָמַיָא דִי מַלֵלְתְּ לְעַבְדָךְ דָוִד אַבָּא:
27 אֲרֵי מַן יְסוֹבַר וּמַן דָמֵי כִּי בְקוּשְׁטָא אִתְרְעֵי יְיָ לְאַשְׁרָאָה שְׁכִנְתֵּיהּ בְּגוֹ בְנֵי אֱנָשָׁא דְדַיְרִין עַל אַרְעָא הָא שְׁמַיָא וּשְׁמֵי שְׁמַיָא לָא יִכְלוּן לְסוֹבָרָא יְקָרָךְ אַף אֱלָהִין בֵּיתָא הָדֵין דִבְנֵיתִי:
28 וְתִתְפְּנֵי לִצְלוֹתָא דְעַבְדָךְ וּלְבָעוּתֵיהּ יְיָ אֱלֹהָי לְקַבָּלָא צְלוֹתָא וּבָעוּתָא דְעַבְדָךְ מְצַלֵי קָדָמָךְ יוֹמָא דֵין:
29 לְמֶהֱוֵי רַעֲוָא קָדָמָךְ לְאַגָנָא עַל בֵּיתָא הָדֵין לֵילֵי וְיֵמָם לְאַתְרָא דִי אֲמַרְתְּ יְהֵי שְׁמִי תַּמָן לְקַבֵּל צְלוֹתָא דִי צַלֵי עַבְדָךְ לְאַפֵּי אַתְרָא הָדֵין:
30 וּתְקַבֵּל בָּעוּת עַבְדָךְ וְעַמָךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל דְיִצְלוּן לְאַפֵּי אַתְרָא הָדֵין וְאַתְּ תְּקַבֵּל מֵאֲתַר בֵּית שְׁכִנְתָּךְ מִן שְׁמַיָא וּתְקַבֵּל צְלוֹתְהוֹן וְתִשְׁבּוֹק לְחוֹבֵיהוֹן:
31 יַת דְיֵחוּב גְבַר לְחַבְרֵיהּ וְיִרְשֵׁי בֵיהּ מוּמֵי לְאוֹמָיוּתֵיהּ וְיֵתֵי וְיוֹמִינֵיהּ קֳדָם מַדְבְּחָךְ בְּבֵיתָא הָדֵין:
32 וְאַתְּ תְּקַבֵּל מִן שְׁמַיָא וְתַעְבֵּיד וּתְדִין יַת עַבְדָךְ לְחַיָבָא חַיָבָא לְמִתַּן אוֹרְחֵיהּ בְּרֵישֵׁיהּ וּלְזַכָּאָה זַכָּאָה לְמִתַּן לֵיהּ כִּזְכוּתֵיהּ:
33 כַּד יִתְמְחוֹן עַמָךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל קֳדָם בַּעֲלֵי דְבָבֵיהוֹן דִיחוֹבוּן קֳדָמָךְ וִיתוּבוּן לְפוּלְחָנָךְ וְיוֹדוּן לִשְׁמָךְ וְיִצְלוּ וְיִבְעוּן מִן קֳדָמָךְ בְּבֵיתָא הָדֵין:
34 וְאַתְּ תְּקַבֵּל מִן שְׁמַיָא וְתִשְׁבּוֹק לְחוֹבֵי עַמָךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל וּתְתִיבִינוּן לְאַרְעָא דִיהַבְתָּא לַאֲבָהַתְהוֹן:
35 כַּד יִתְכְּלוּן שְׁמַיָא וְלָא יְהֵי מִטְרָא אֲרֵי יְחוֹבוּן קֳדָמָךְ וִיצַלוּן לְאַפֵּי אַתְרָא הָדֵין וְיוֹדוּן לִשְׁמָךְ וּמֵחוֹבֵיהוֹן יְתוּבוּן אֲרֵי תְקַבֵּל צְלוֹתְהוֹן:
36 וְאַתְּ תְּקַבֵּל מִן שְׁמַיָא וְתִשְׁבּוֹק לְחוֹבֵי עַבְדָךְ וְעַמָךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲרֵי תַלְפִינוּן יַת אוֹרְחָא דְתַקְנָא דְיַהֲכוּן בָּהּ וְתִתֵּן מִטְרָא עַל אַרְעָךְ דִיהַבְתָּא לְעַמָךְ לְאַחָסָנָא:
37 כַּפְנָא אֲרֵי יְהֵי בְאַרְעָא מוֹתָא אֲרֵי יְהֵי שִׁדָפוֹנָא יַרְקָנָא גוֹבָא שְׁמוֹטָא אֲרֵי יְהֵי אֲרֵי יְעִיקוּן לֵיהּ בַּעֲלֵי דְבָבֵיהוֹן בְּאַרְעָא קִירְוֵיהוֹן כָּל מַכְתַּשׁ כָּל מְרָע:
38 כָּל צְלוֹתָא כָּל בָּעוּתָא דִתְהֵי לְכָל אֱנָשָׁא לְכָל עַמָךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל דִי יֵדְעוּן גְבַר מַכְתַּשׁ לִבֵּיהּ וְיִפְרוֹס יְדוֹהִי בִּצְלוֹ לְאַפֵּי בֵיתָא הָדֵין:
39 וְאַתְּ תְּקַבֵּל מִן שְׁמַיָא מֵאֲתַר בֵּית שְׁכִנְתָּךְ וְתִשְׁבּוֹק לְחוֹבֵיהוֹן וְתַעְבֵּיד בָּעוּתְהוֹן וְתִתֵּן לִגְבַר כְּכָל אוֹרְחָתֵיהּ דִגְלֵי קֳדָמָךְ לִבֵּיהּ אֲרֵי אַתְּ הוּא לֵית בַּר מִנָךְ קֳדָמָךְ לְחוֹד גְלָן לִבְּבַיָא דְכָל בְּנֵי אֱנָשָׁא:
40 בְּדִיל דְיִדְחֲלוּן מִן קֳדָמָךְ כָּל יוֹמַיָא דְאִינוּן קַיָמִין עַל אַפֵּי אַרְעָא דִי יְהַבְתְּ לְאַבְהָתָנָא:
41 וְאַף מִן בַּר עַמְמִין דְלָא מֵעַמָךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל הוּא וְיֵתֵי מֵאַרְעָא רְחִיקָא בְּדִיל שְׁמָךְ:
42 אֲרֵי יִשְׁמְעוּן יַת שְׁמָךְ רַבָּא וְיַת יְדָךְ תַּקִפְתָּא וְדַרְעָךְ מְרַמְמָא וְיֵתֵי וִיצַלֵי לְאַפֵּי בֵיתָא הָדֵין:
43 אַתְּ תְּקַבֵּל מִן שְׁמַיָא מֵאֲתַר בֵּית שְׁכִנְתָּךְ וְתַעֲבֵיד כְּכֹל דִי יְצַלֵי קֳדָמָךְ בַּר עַמְמִין בְּדִיל דְיֵדְעוּן כָּל עַמְמֵי אַרְעָא יַת שְׁמָךְ לְמִדְחַל קֳדָמָךְ כְּעַמָךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל וּלְמֵידַע אֲרֵי שְׁמָךְ אִתְקְרֵי עַל בֵּיתָא הָדֵין דִי בְּנֵיתִי:
44 אֲרֵי יִפּוֹק עַמָךְ לְאַגָחָא קְרָבָא עַל בַּעֲלֵי דְבָבֵיהוֹן בְּאוֹרְחָא דְתִשְׁלְחִינוּן וִיצַלוּן קֳדָם יְיָ לְאַפֵּי אוֹרַח קַרְתָּא דְאִתְרְעֵיתָא בָהּ וּבֵיתָא דִי בְנִיתִי לִשְׁמָךְ:
45 וּתְקַבֵּל מִן שְׁמַיָא יַת צְלוֹתְהוֹן וְיַת בָּעוּתְהוֹן וְתִתְפְּרַע עוּלְבַּנְהוֹן:
46 אֲרֵי יְחוֹבוּן קֳדָמָךְ אֲרֵי לֵית אֱנָשׁ דְלָא חָטֵי וְיֵחוּל רוּגְזָךְ בְּהוֹן וְתִמְסְרִינוּן קֳדָם בַּעֲלֵי דְבָבֵיהוֹן וְיִשְׁבּוּנוּן שׁוֹבֵיהוֹן לַאֲרַע בַּעֲלֵי דְבָבֵיהוֹן דִרְחִיקָא אוֹ קְרִיבָא:
47 וִיתוּבוּן לְלִבְּהוֹן בְּאַרְעָא דְאִשְׁתְּבִיאוּ לְתַמָן וִיתוּבוּן וְיִבְעוּן מִן קֳדָמָךְ בְּאַרְעָא שִׁבְיֵהוֹן לְמֵימַר חַבְנָא וְאִטְפַשְׁנָא סְרַחְנָא:
48 וִיתוּבוּן לְפוּלְחָנָךְ בְּכָל לִבְּהוֹן וּבְכָל נַפְשְׁהוֹן בְּאַרְעָא בַּעֲלֵי דְבָבֵיהוֹן דִשְׁבוֹ יַתְהוֹן וְיִצְלוּן קֳדָמָךְ לְאַפֵּי אוֹרְחָא דְאַרְעֲהוֹן דִיהַבְתָּא לַאֲבָהַתְהוֹן קַרְתָּא דְאִתְרְעִיתָא וּבֵיתָא דִבְנִיתִי לִשְׁמָךְ:
49 וּתְקַבֵּל מִן שְׁמַיָא מֵאֲתַר בֵּית שְׁכִנְתָּךְ יַת צְלוֹתְהוֹן וְיַת בָעוּתְהוֹן וְתִתְפְּרַע עוֹלְבַּנְהוֹן:
50 וְתִשְׁבּוֹק לְעַמָךְ דְחָבוּ קֳדָמָךְ וּלְכָל מְרָדֵיהוֹן דִי מְרָדוּ בָּךְ וּבְמֵימְרָךְ וְתִתְּנֵינוּן לְרַחֲמִין קֳדָם שׁוֹבֵיהוֹן וִירַחֲמוּן עֲלֵיהוֹן:
51 אֲרֵי עֲמָךְ וְאַחֲסַנְתָּךְ אִינוּן דְאַפֵּיקְתָּא מִצְרַיִם מִגוֹ כוּרָא דְבַרְזְלָא:
52 לְמֶהֱוֵי רַעֲוָא קֳדָמָךְ לְקַבָּלָא בָּעוּלַת עַבְדָךְ וּבָעוּת עַמָךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל לְקַבָּלָא צְלוֹתְהוֹן בְּכָל עִדָן דְאִינוּן מְצַלָן קֳדָמָךְ:
53 אֲרֵי אַתְּ אַפְרֵשְׁתִּנוּן לָךְ לְאַחְסָנָא מִכֹּל עַמְמֵי אַרְעָא כְּמָא דְמַלֵילְתָּא בְּיַד מֹשֶׁה עַבְדָךְ בְּאַפָקוּתָךְ יַת אַבְהָתָנָא מִמִצְרַיִם יְיָ אֱלֹהִים:
54 וַהֲוָה כַד שֵׁיצֵי שְׁלֹמֹה לְצַלָאָה קֳדָם יְיָ יַת כָּל צְלוֹתָא וּבָעוּתָא הָדָא קָם מִן קֳדָם מַדְבְּחָא דַייָ מִדְהֲוָה כְּרִיעַ עַל בִּרְכּוֹהִי וִידוֹהִי פְּרִיסָן בִּצְלוֹ לְצֵית שְׁמַיָא:
55 וְקָם וּבְרִיךְ יַת כָּל קְהָלָא דְיִשְׂרָאֵל קַל רַב לְמֵימָר:
56 בְּרִיךְ יְיָ דִי יְהִיב נְיָחָא לְעַמֵיהּ יִשְׂרָאֵל כְּכָל דִי מַלֵיל לָא בְּטִיל פִּתְגָמָא חַד מִכָּל פִּתְגָמוֹהִי תַקְנַיָא דִי מַלֵיל בִּידָא דְמֹשֶׁה עַבְדֵיהּ:
57 יְהֵי מֵימְרָא דַייָ אֱלָהָנָא בְּסַעֲדָנָא כְּמָא דַהֲוָה בְּסַעֲדָא דַאֲבָהָתָנָא לָא יִשְׁבְּקִינָנָא וְלָא יַרְחִקִינָנָא:
58 לְאַפְנָאָה לִבָּנָא לִדְחַלְתֵּיהּ לִמְהַךְ בְכָל אוֹרְחָן דְתַקְנָן קָדָמוֹהִי וּלְמִטַר פִּקוּדוֹהִי וּקְיָמוֹהִי וְדִינוֹהִי דְפַקֵיד יַת אֲבָהָתָנָא:
59 וִיהוֹן פִּתְגָמֵי אִלֵין דִי בְעֵיתִי מִן קֳדָם יְיָ מִתְקַבְּלִין קֳדָם יְיָ אֱלָהָנָא יֵימָם וְלֵילֵי לְמֶעְבַּד דִין עַבְדֵיהּ וְעוּלְבַּן עַמֵיהּ יִשְׂרָאֵל פִּתְגָם יוֹם בְּיוֹמֵיהּ:
60 בְּדִיל דְיֵדְעוּן כָּל עַמְמֵי אַרְעָא אֲרֵי יְיָ הוּא אֱלֹהִים לֵית עוֹד:
61 וִיהֵי לִבְּכוֹן שְׁלִים בִּדְחַלְתָּא דַייָ אֱלָהָנָא לִמְהַךְ בִּקְיָמוֹהִי וּלְמִטַר פִּקוּדוֹהִי כְּיוֹמָא הָדֵין:
62 וּמַלְכָּא וְכָל יִשְׂרָאֵל עִמֵיהּ מְנַכְסִין נִכְסַת קוּדְשִׁין קֳדָם יְיָ:
63 וּנְכַס שְׁלֹמֹה יַת נִכְסַת קוּדְשַׁיָא דִי נְכִיס קֳדָם יְיָ תּוֹרֵי תַּרְתֵּין רִבּוֹא וּתְרֵין אַלְפִין וַעֲנָא תַּרְתָּא עַסְרֵי רִבּוֹא וַחֲנִיכוּ יַת בֵּית מַקְדְשָׁא דַייָ מַלְכָּא וְכָל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל:
64 בְּיוֹמָא הַהוּא קַדִישׁ מַלְכָּא יַת גוֹ דָרְתָא דִי קֳדָם בֵּית מַקְדְשָׁא דַייָ אֲרֵי עֲבַד תַּמָן יַת עֲלָתָא וְיַת מִנְחָתָא וְיַת תַּרְבֵּי נִכְסַת קוּדְשַׁיָא אֲרֵי מַדְבְּחָא דִנְחָשָׁא דִי קֳדָם יְיָ דָחִיק מִלְסוֹבָרָא יַת עֲלָתָא וְיַת מִנְחָתָא וְיַת תַּרְבֵּי נִכְסַת קוּדְשַׁיָא:
65 וַעֲבַד שְׁלֹמֹה בְּעִדָנָא הַהִיא יַת חַגָא וְכָל יִשְׂרָאֵל עִמֵיהּ קְהָלָא רַב מִמַעֲלָנָא דַחֲמָת עַד נַחֲלָא דְמִצְרַיִם קֳדָם יְיָ אֱלָהָנָא שַׁבְעָא יוֹמִין חֲנֻכַּת בֵּיתָא וְשַׁבְעָא יוֹמִין חַגָא אַרְבַּעַת עֲשַׂר יוֹמִין:
66 On the eighth day he sent the people away. They blessed the king and returned to their cities, rejoicing and glad at heart for all the good the Lord had done for David his servant and for Israel his people.

2 וַאֲתַת לִירוּשְׁלֵם בְּמַשִׁרְיַן סַגִיאִין לַחֲדָא גַמְלִין טְעוּנִין בּוּסְמָנִין וְדַהֲבָא סַגִי לַחֲדָא וְאַבְנִין טָבָן וַאֲתַת לְוַת שְׁלֹמֹה וּמַלִילַת עִמֵיהּ יַת כָּל דִי הֲוָה עִם לִבָּהּ:

12And Rehoboam went to Shechem, for all Israel came to Shechem to make him king. 2 And when Jeroboam the son of Nebat heard, he was still in Egypt where he fled from before King Solomon. And Jeroboam dwelt in Egypt. 3 And they sent and called to him, and Jeroboam and all the assembly of Israel came, and they spoke with Rehoboam, saying: 4 Your father made harsh our yoke, and you now lighten up from the harsh service of your father and from his heavy yoke that he gave upon us, and we will serve you. 5 And he said to them: Go, and wait until three days, and return unto me. And the people went away. 6 And King Rehoboam took counsel with the elders who were serving before Solomon his father while he was alive, saying: How are you counselling to bring word back to this people? 7 And they spoke with him, saying: If this day you submit yourself to this people and you serve them and answer them good words and speak with them right words, they will be servants to you all the days. 8 And he abandoned the counsel of the elders that they counseled him, and he took counsel with the youngsters who had grown up with him, who were serving before him. 9 And he said to them: What are you counselling that we send word back to this people who are speaking with me, saying: Lighten up from the yoke that your father gave upon us? 10 And the youngsters who had grown up with him spoke with him, saying: Thus you will say to this people who spoke with you, saying: Your father has made heavy our yoke, and you lighten up from us. Thus you will speak with them: My weakness is stronger than the strength of my father. 11 And now my father raised upon you a heavy yoke, and I will add to your yoke. My father chastised you with rods, and I will chastise you with whips. 12 And Jeroboam and all the people came unto Rehoboam on the third day just as the king spoke, saying: Return unto me on the third day. 13 And the king answered the people in harsh words, and he abandoned the counsel of the elders that they counseled him. 14 And he spoke with them according to the counsel of the youngsters, saying: My father made your yoke heavy, and I will add to your yoke. My father chastised you with rods, and I will chastise you with whips. 15 And the king did not accept from the people, for there was division from before the Lord in order to fulfill his word that the Lord spoke by the hand of Ahijah the Shilonite about Jeroboam the son of Nebat. 16 And all Israel saw that the king did not accept them, and the people answered the king a word, saying: What portion is there for us in David? And there is no inheritance in the son of Jesse. Each man to your cities, O Israel. Now rule over the men of your house, O David. And Israel went to its cities.[1] 17 And the sons of Israel who were dwelling in the cities of the house of Judah, Rehoboam ruled over them. 18 And King Rehoboam sent Adoram who was appointed over the tribute bearers, and all Israel stoned him with stone, and he died. And King Rehoboam succeeded to go up on the chariot, to go forth to Jerusalem. 19 And Israel rebelled against the house of David unto this day. 20 And when all Israel heard that Jeroboam returned, they sent and called him to the assembly, and they made him king over all Israel. None was after the house of David except the tribe of the house of Judah alone. 21 And Rehoboam came to Jerusalem, and he gathered all those of the house of Judah and the tribe of the house of Benjamin, 180,000, each a warrior, wagers of battle, to wage battle with the house of Israel, to restore the kingdom to Rehoboam the son of Solomon. 22 And the word of prophecy was from before the Lord with Shemaiah the prophet of the Lord, saying: 23 Say to Rehoboam the son of Solomon, the king of the tribe of the house of Judah, and to all the house of Judah and Benjamin and the rest of the people, saying: 24 Thus said the Lord: You shall not go up and you shall not wage battle with your brothers, the sons of Israel. Return, each man to his house, for from before my Memra was the word. And they received the word of the Lord, and they turned to go according to the word of the Lord. 25 And Jeroboam built Shechem in the hill country of the house of Ephraim, and he dwelt in it; and he went forth from there and built Penuel. 26 And Jeroboam said in his heart: Now perhaps the kingdom will return to the house of David, if this people will go up to make the sacrifice of holy things in the house of the sanctuary of the Lord in Jerusalem, and the heart of this people will turn itself after their master, after Rehoboam, the king of the tribe of the house of Judah, and they will kill me, and they will turn unto Rehoboam the king of the tribe of the house of Judah. 27 And the king took counsel and made two calves of gold, and he said to them: Too much for you is the way from going up to Jerusalem. Behold these are your deities, O Israel, who brought you up from the land of Egypt. 28 And he set up one in Bethel, and he put one in Dan. 29 And this act was a sin, and the people went before one unto Dan. 30 And he made a house of high places, and he made idol priests from a part of the people that were not from the sons of Levi. 31 And Jeroboam made a festival in the eighth month on the fifteenth day of the month, like the festival that was in the tribe of Judah, and he went up to the altar, thus he did in Bethel to sacrifice to the calves that he made, and he appointed in Bethel the idol priests of the high places that he made. 32 And he went up to the altar that he made in Bethel, on the fifteenth day of the eighth month, in the month that he appointed from his own good pleasure, and he made a festival for the sons of Israel, and he went up to the altar to burn incense.
13A prophet of the Lord came from the tribe of Judah to Bethel at the Lord's command, while Jeroboam stood at the pagan altar to burn incense. 2 He prophesied against the pagan altar at the Lord's command: "Altar, altar! This is what the Lord says: A son named Josiah will be born to the house of David. He will slaughter on you the priests of the high places who have burned incense on you, and human bones will be burned on you." 3 That day he gave a sign, saying, "This is the sign the Lord has declared, so that you may know the Lord sent me: the altar will split apart, and the ashes on it will spill out." 4 When the king heard what the prophet of the Lord had prophesied against the pagan altar in Bethel, Jeroboam stretched his hand out from over the altar and said, "Arrest him!" But the hand he stretched toward him withered, and he could not bring it back to himself. 5 The altar split apart, and its ashes spilled out, just as the prophet of the Lord had given the sign at the Lord's command. 6 The king answered the prophet of the Lord, "Please pray before the Lord your God and petition him, so that my hand may be restored." The prophet of the Lord prayed before the Lord, and the king's hand was restored to its former condition. 7 The king said to the prophet of the Lord, "Come home with me and have a meal. I will give you a gift." 8 The prophet of the Lord replied to the king, "Even if you give me half your household, I will not go in with you or eat bread or drink water in this place. 9 For this is what I was commanded by the Lord's word: 'Do not eat bread or drink water there, and do not return by the road you took.'" 10 He left by a different road and did not return by the road on which he had come to Bethel. 11 An old false prophet lived in Bethel. His son came and told him everything the prophet of the Lord had done that day in Bethel. They told their father the words he had spoken to the king. 12 Their father asked them, "Which road did he take?" His sons showed him the road taken by the prophet of the Lord who had come from the tribe of Judah. 13 He told his sons, "Saddle my donkey." They saddled the donkey for him, and he mounted it. 14 He followed the prophet of the Lord and found him sitting beneath a terebinth. He asked, "Are you the prophet of the Lord who came from the tribe of Judah?" He replied, "I am." 15 He said to him, "Come home with me and eat bread." 16 He replied, "I cannot return with you or go in with you. I will not eat bread or drink water with you in this place. 17 For the Lord's word laid this command on me: 'Do not eat bread or drink water there, and do not go back by the road you took.'" 18 He said to him, "I too am a prophet like you. An angel spoke to me at the Lord's command: 'Bring him back with you to your house, so that he may eat bread and drink water.'" He was lying to him. 19 He returned with him and ate bread in his house and drank water. 20 While they were reclining at the table, a word of prophecy from the Lord came to the prophet who had brought him back. 21 He prophesied against the prophet of the Lord who had come from the tribe of Judah: "This is what the Lord says: Because you rebelled against the Word of the Lord and did not keep the command the Lord your God gave you, 22 but returned and ate bread and drank water in the place where he told you not to eat bread or drink water, your body will not be gathered into your ancestors' tomb." 23 After they had eaten bread and had drunk, he saddled the donkey for him, for the prophet he had brought back. 24 He departed, and a lion met him on the road and killed him. His body lay on the road, with the donkey standing opposite it and the lion standing beside the body. 25 Men passing by saw the body lying on the road and the lion standing beside it. They came and reported it in the city where the old false prophet lived. 26 When the prophet who had brought him back from his journey heard this, he said, "It is the prophet of the Lord who rebelled against the Word of the Lord. The Lord handed him over to the lion, which mauled and killed him, just as the Lord had told him." 27 He told his sons, "Saddle my donkey," and they saddled it. 28 He went and found the body lying on the road, with the donkey and the lion standing beside it. The lion had neither eaten the body nor mauled the donkey. 29 The false prophet picked up the body of the prophet of the Lord and laid it on the donkey. He brought him back and came to the city of the old false prophet to mourn him and bury him. 30 He laid the body in his own tomb, and they mourned over him: "Alas, brother!" 31 After they had buried him, he told his sons, "When I die, bury me in the tomb where the prophet of the Lord is buried. Lay my bones beside his bones. 32 For the prophecy he delivered at the Lord's command against the pagan altar in Bethel and against all the shrines of the high places in the cities of Samaria will certainly be fulfilled." 33 Even after this, Jeroboam did not turn from his evil course. He again made some of the people priests of the high places. Whoever wished would present his offering, and they would become priests of the high places. 34 This brought guilt on the house of Jeroboam, leading to its destruction and removal from the face of the earth.
18And Elijah said to the people, I alone am left as a prophet before the Lord, but the prophets of Baal are four hundred and fifty men 23 Let two bulls be given to us, and let them choose one bull for themselves and cut it into pieces and lay it on the wood, but do not put fire to it And I will prepare the other bull and lay it on the wood, but I will not put fire to it 24 Then you call upon the name of your god, and do not respond, for he has no need But I will pray in the name of the Lord, and He will send His word and cause the fire to descend, for the Lord is God And all the people answered and said, The word is right 25 And Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, Choose for yourselves one bull and prepare it first, for you are many, and call upon the name of your idol, but do not put fire to it 26 So they took the bull that was given to them and prepared it, and they called upon the name of Baal from morning until noon, saying, O Baal, answer us But there was no voice and no one answered And they limped about the altar that they had made 27 And it came to pass at noon that Elijah mocked them and said, Cry aloud, for he is a god Perhaps he is meditating, or he has gone aside to relieve himself, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he is asleep and must be awakened 28 And they cried out with a loud voice and cut themselves after their manner with swords and spears until blood gushed out upon them
22And they stayed three years; there was no war between Aram and Israel. 2 And it came to pass in the third year, Jehoshaphat king of the tribe of Judah came down to the king of Israel. 3 And the king of Israel said to his servants, 'Do you know that Ramoth-Gilead belongs to us, and we are silent from taking it out of the hand of the king of Aram?' 4 And he said to Jehoshaphat, 'Will you go with me to battle at Ramoth-Gilead?' And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, 'I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.' 5 And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, 'Seek now, today, the word of the Lord.' 6 And the king of Israel gathered the false prophets, about four hundred men, and said to them, 'Shall I go against Ramoth-Gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?' And they said, 'Go up, and the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.' 7 And Jehoshaphat said, 'Is there not here another prophet of the Lord, that we might inquire of him?' 8 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, 'There is yet one man, Micaiah son of Imlah, by whom we may inquire of the Lord, but I hate him; for he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil.' And they turned aside to fight against him; and Jehoshaphat cried out. 33 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him. 34 And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of his armor. And he said to the driver of his chariot, 'Turn your hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.' 35 And the battle increased that day; and the king was propped up in his chariot against the Syrians, and died at evening; and the blood ran out of the wound into the bottom of the chariot. 36 And there went a cry throughout the host about the going down of the sun, saying, 'Every man to his city, and every man to his own country.' 37 So the king died, and was brought to Samaria; and they buried the king in Samaria. 38 And one washed the chariot in the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood; and they washed his armor; according to the word of the Lord which he spoke. 39 Now the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he built, and all the cities that he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? 40 So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead. 41 And Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel. 42 Jehoshaphat was thirty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi. 43 And he walked in all the way of Asa his father; he did not turn aside from it, doing that which was right in the eyes of the Lord. Nevertheless the high places were not taken away; for the people offered and burnt incense yet in the high places. 44 And Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel. 45 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, and his might that he showed, and how he fought, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 46 And the remnant of the sodomites, who remained in the days of his father Asa, he took out of the land. 47 There was then no king in Edom; a deputy was king. 48 Jehoshaphat made ships of Tarshish to go to Ophir for gold; but they went not; for the ships were broken at Ezion-Geber. 49 Then said Ahaziah the son of Ahab to Jehoshaphat, 'Let my servants go with your servants in the ships.' But Jehoshaphat would not. 50 And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father; and Jehoram his son reigned in his stead. 51 Ahaziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned two years over Israel. 52 And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin; 53 For he served Baal, and worshiped him, and provoked the Lord God of Israel to anger, according to all that his father had done. 54 And Ahaziah fell through the lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria, and was sick; so he sent messengers, and said to them, 'Go, inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, whether I shall recover of this disease.'
