Psalm 84:2

Hebrew Bible

1 For the music director, according to the gittith style; written by the Korahites, a psalm. How lovely is the place where you live, O Lord of Heaven’s Armies! 2 I desperately want to be in the courts of the Lord’s temple. My heart and my entire being shout for joy to the living God. 3 Even the birds find a home there, and the swallow builds a nest where she can protect her young near your altars, O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, my King and my God. 4 How blessed are those who live in your temple and praise you continually. (Selah)

1 Enoch 39:10

Pseudepigrapha

8 And I saw his dwelling-place under the wings of the Lord of Spirits. 9 And all the righteous and elect before Him shall be †strong† as fiery lights, And their mouth shall be full of blessing, And their lips extol the name of the Lord of Spirits, And righteousness before Him shall never fail, [And uprightness shall never fail before Him.] 10 There I wished to dwell, And my spirit longed for that dwelling-place: And there heretofore hath been my portion, For so has it been established concerning me before the Lord of Spirits. 11 In those days I praised and extolled the name of the Lord of Spirits with blessings and praises, because He hath destined me for blessing and glory according to the good pleasure of the Lord of Spirits.

 Notes and References

"... Enoch now personalizes the vision. He greatly desires to dwell in the dwelling of the Chosen One that he has just seen, and he is confident that the Lord of Spirits has intended this for him. The wording of the verses echoes Psalm 84:1-2 ... the numerous verbal parallels between the verses and the psalm may have led the author to shift to the idiom of the psalm, 'dwelling' / 'dwelling place' ..."
