Now leave this land immediately and return to your native land.’” 14 Then Rachel and Leah replied to him, “Do we still have any portion or inheritance in our father’s house?

"... In Genesis 31:13 the phrase לא־תיב לאה יכנא (“I am the God of Bethel”) is rendered by ἐγώ εἰµι ὁ θεὸς ὁ ὀφθείς σοι ἐν τόπῳ θεοῦ (“I am the God who appeared to you at a divine place”). With this rendering, the issue of God’s transcendence is raised as well. In order to avoid the notion of a “house of God”, the translator prefers to add the more neutral term τόπος (“place”), implying the possibility of a sojourn, which is thought to be only a temporary one. The translator has thereby forged also an intertextual connection with Genesis 28:10–22 ..."
