Summary of Mark (View)
Date: 60-75 C.E.
Description: Mark is the traditional name given to one of the three synoptic Gospels describing the birth, ministry, passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Mark is notable for being considered by a majority of scholars as the earliest written Gospel and the foundation for the Gospels of Luke and Matthew. Mark was a native Greek speaker who was likely not an eyewitness of Jesus but may have been an interpreter and codifier of Peter.
